    Why your home needs ventilation

Today's homes are sealed tight for energy efficiency, but without proper ventilation that airtightness traps moisture, allergens and stale air indoors. Here is what the right system does for you.

    Helps prevent mould and condensation

Continuously removes the excess moisture that leads to black mould on walls, ceilings and around windows.

    Helps prevent damp

Helps keep humidity in check so damp is far less likely to take hold and damage your home, plaster and decor.

    Healthier air to breathe

Constantly refreshes and filters your air, helping reduce allergens, asthma triggers and dust mites, and supporting better sleep.

    Warmer, lower bills

Heat recovery reclaims up to 90% of your warmth, so you can ventilate without throwing money out the window.

    Mechanical Heat Recovery Ventilation

Without a good ventilation system, your home can fall victim to several problems. Any moisture in the air can form condensation, encouraging the growth of mould. Subsequently, dust mites tend to flourish in damp conditions, and this can lead to an increase in dust-related allergies or asthma.

MVHR provides an ideal ventilation solution, and the technology couldn't be more straightforward. The unit sits in an accessible loft or cupboard space. Fresh air from outside is supplied to the habitable rooms, while stale humid air is extracted from the 'wet' rooms. A built-in heat exchanger recovers up to 90% of the heat from the outgoing air, keeping your home warm while the air stays fresh. The system requires ducting and air diffusers to be fitted throughout the dwelling.

    Demand Control Ventilation

Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) is an intelligent ventilation method that ensures good indoor air quality while saving energy. We install the Aereco range of DCV systems, the specialists in demand-controlled ventilation. DCV systems are automatic, no user interaction is required, and filters are not required for this type of unit.

DCV units respond to humidity in the air. When your home has excess moisture, stale air is extracted from the wet rooms (kitchen, bathrooms, utility) and fresh air is drawn in through both motion- and humidity-sensitive wall inlets in the dry rooms (bedrooms, living rooms, etc).

Because the system is demand-controlled, each room is ventilated at its optimum level automatically.

    Vent-Axia Multivent CMEV unit

    Centralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation

CMEV is a continuous low-rate extraction system. A single, energy-efficient central fan unit is mounted in the loft, utility, or cupboard space, with ducting running to each 'wet' room, kitchens, bathrooms, ensuites, and utility rooms.

Stale, humid, and odorous air is continuously extracted from these rooms, while fresh replacement air enters the home through background ventilators or trickle vents in the dry rooms.

CMEV systems run 24/7 at a low, near-silent baseline rate, with automatic boost when humidity rises (after a shower, while cooking). The result is consistent indoor air quality with minimal energy use, ideal for new builds and retrofits where MVHR isn't practical.
